Postdoctoral Teaching Associate in English

Arsalan Haq is a Postdoctoral Teaching Associate in the Writing Program at Northeastern University. He received his Ph.D. from Northeastern in August 2020. His dissertation, “Graphic Acts: Narrative Desire and Design in Comics and Architecture,” interrogates architecture design and comics as allied art forms that shape narratives through the medium of drawing. Dr. Haq’s teaching draws on his interdisciplinary training in design and visual culture. In his classes, students develop critical thinking skills and learn to write for various audiences in different contexts—public, academic, and professional. They also explore non-traditional writing media, including comics, narrative art, and memes, as means of communication.
