Hua Dong

Hua Dong serves as coordinator of the Chinese program. She teaches courses on Chinese language and culture and has also developed and led the Chinese language Dialogue of Civilizations in China in the past 10 summers. Prior to coming to Northeastern University, Hua Dong was an associate producer and producer of several documentary films about modern and contemporary Chinese history and culture. These award-winning films, including “The Gate of Heavenly Peace” and “Morning Sun,” were shown on PBS and film festivals. She was involved in the creation of many Sino-American co-production television projects, such as the historic Chinese house, “Yin Yu Tang”, at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Massachusetts. She also worked on several other projects with the Children’s Television Workshop.
