Postdoctoral Teaching Associate, English
Jong-Keyong Kim received his Ph.D. in English from Texas Christian University, where he studied British Gothic literature, digital humanities, women and gender studies, and rhetoric and composition. His dissertation, Gothic Ontography: Changing Materialism in British Ghost Stories, 1764–1913, explores how ghosts take form through objects, bodies, spaces, and technologies, combining literary analysis with computational methods. His research now extends the questions of distributed agency and authorship to generative AI and digital culture in tandem with spectrality in literature. As a teacher, he is committed to helping students connect writing and literary study to the technologies and cultural questions shaping their lives. At TCU, he taught courses in composition, Gothic literature, digital humanities, women’s writing, and critical AI literacy. He also enjoys building interdisciplinary communities, experimenting with new digital tools, and teaching Korean.
