Dr. Schwartz’s research examines the ways in which media influence body image and other health-related topics. The goal of his research is to better understand the health messages the public receives through mediated communication. His research on sexuality, gender, and health has been accepted for publication in Communication journals such as Journal of Communication, Journalism and Mass Communication Quarterly, and Mass Communication and Society. Additionally, his work has been published in interdisciplinary journals such as Sex Roles: A Journal of Research, The American Journal of Men’s Health, and Journal of Homosexuality.
