Associate Teaching Professor of Economics
Xiaolin Shi is an Associate Teaching Professor of Economics specializing in applied econometrics, data-driven analysis, and demographic research. Her work focuses on connecting economic theory to real-world practice, with an emphasis on policy evaluation and practical applications.
Through experiential learning and global programs, she helps students develop strong analytical and problem-solving skills, preparing them for successful careers in data analysis and consulting.
She is the faculty leader of the Dialogue of Civilizations program China’s Economic Rise: Innovation and Global Business Strategy, which provides students with immersive, on-the-ground learning experiences in China’s dynamic economic environment. Prior to joining Northeastern University, Xiaolin Shi was the co-founder and an instructor at Learning Lab International and served as a research director at Ciprun Group. She also taught at CUNY Queens College and worked at State Street Global Advisors as a strategic researcher.
