Stipend Graduate Assistant - Hazen Evaluation Support

This SGA will support Dr. Katherine Hazen and NU-PEL on a variety of funded and unfunded evaluation projects, including but not limited to pilot evaluation, data analysis, data collection, grant writing, or report writing. Projects may include evaluations of healing circles for returning citizens, court diversion programs, or anti-trafficking programs.

    The Northeastern University Public Evaluation Lab (NU-PEL) is an interdisciplinary, multigenerational lab that utilizes culturally responsive evaluation (CRE) and community-based participatory research (CBPR) frameworks to: 1. provide evaluation and consultative services to the Northeastern University community and community-based organizations committed to improving the health, wellbeing, and safety of the people they impact; 2. build collaborations and share evaluation knowledge and expertise across Northeastern University’s colleges; and 3. train undergraduate and graduate students in the techniques of program evaluation through a wide array of learning opportunities. NU-PEL is a collaboration between the Institute on Health Equity and Social Justice Research (IHESJR) in Bouvé College of Health Sciences and the Center on Crime, Race, and Justice (CRJ) in the College of Social Sciences and Humanities. Today NU-PEL is led by Drs. Wendy Friedman, Katherine Hazen, Alisa Lincoln, and Amy Farrell.

  • Qualifications Necessary

    The student should have an interest in community-engaged evaluations, have strong writing skills, and interest in mixed methods with some practice with both quantitative and qualitative analyses.
