Join Dr. Mark Martin virtually for the launch of his book,“My Teaching Routine”. The book is a teaching framework based on Dr. Martin’s decades as a classroom teacher. The framework emphasizes reflective-metacognition in teaching—considering one’s own thoughts and processes. Readers are encouraged to take ownership of their own teaching routines and reflect on their practice.

Mark Martin MBE aka @Urban_Teacher, is an Assistant Professor in Computer Science and Education Practice. Mark is a thought leader in #EdTech and a hugely popular speaker, sharing his expertise and insights to educators around the world. He is a teacher/advisor for several major global tech brands and continues to advocate for home-grown talent, digital skills and education equity. In May 2022, Mark was recognized as one of the top 50 most influential people in UK IT by computer weekly. In 2019, he was awarded an MBE for services to education, technology, and diversity in UK technology

Agenda: Teaching Routine Book Launch Book Synopsis: My Teaching Routine” is a teaching framework based on Dr. Mark Martin’s two decades personal experience as an advanced skilled classroom teacher. The framework emphasizes the importance of reflective-metacognition, or considering one’s own thoughts and processes, in teaching. The book encourages readers to take ownership of their own teaching routines and to always reflect on their practice. The book is intended to be flexible and can be read in any order. It aims to take you out of your comfort zone, to constantly review your teaching style, and as a teacher, to challenge you to ask a series of questions. The ‘Teaching Routine’ takes the teachers and learners through different stages of a lesson setting up activities or scenarios in order for learners to maximize their learning. The learning outcome of the ‘Teaching Routine’ is to help teachers create excellent learning environments and build genuine connections with learners.
