Ann Walsh

Community Relations & Programs Manager - Boston Area Research Initiative (BARI)
Ann has thirty years of experience in education and youth development at various organizations in Boston and Washington, DC. She has worked with children and their families and teachers through K-12 classroom-based and enrichment programs, and consulted with organizations including Countdown to Kindergarten, the Mayor’s Office, and the Boston Teacher Residency. Ann served as Chief of Staff to former Boston City Councilor John Connolly during his time as Chair of the Education Committee. In 2015, she and John co-founded 1647, a non-profit that trained and coached educators in Gateway Cities and in teacher preparation programs to build authentic connections with students’ families.
Ann lives in Dorchester with her family and coaches softball for All Dorchester Sports and Leadership and the Red Sox Foundation’s RBI program. Ann holds an Ed.M. from Harvard University Graduate School of Education and a B.A. In history and political science from Quinnipiac University.
