Executive Director, Bay State Progress

Policy School alumnus David Halbert (MPA ’16) is a Boston-based lifelong public servant and civic activist. He is currently the Executive Director at Bay State Progress (BSP), which leverages funds to support projects that connect and align the progressive electoral ecosystem. Prior to BSP, he served as the Outreach Manager for The Educational Justice Institute at MIT. David has been a staff member for former Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and has run twice for an at-large seat on the Boston City Council. He is a state committee member for the Massachusetts Democratic Party. David earned a BA in English/Communications from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and two Graduate Certificates (one in Nonprofit Sector, Philanthropy, & Social Change and one in Public Policy Analysis) and an MPA from Northeastern University.
