Kathleen Perry

Administrative Assistant/ Staff Interpreter

Kathleen Perry, often referred to as Katy, is an alum of the NU ASLIE program and graduated in 2020. During her time at Northeastern University she began her Co-Op with The Learning Center for the Deaf, TLC, in their therapeutic program, Walden School, and has since dedicated much of her time to working with students who have special needs. In 2020 she graduated from Northeastern with a BA in American Sign Language and English Interpretation.  She then went on to work in the Functional Academics classroom at TLC with students who needed extra support in their daily routine and academics. Since 2017, she has volunteered with the Deaf Blind Contact Center and still attends many of their events. This work in the community has led to a passion for teaching and supporting the inclusion and awareness of all people in the Deaf community. In April of 2022, Kathleen passed the Massachusetts State Screening and started working in the community as a freelance interpreter. In her new role as Administrative Assistant and Staff Interpreter, Kathleen is thrilled to be able to apply all the skills and advocacy she’s learned thus far to supporting students in the same program she attended.
