Art Dealer and Founder of Michael Altman Fine Art & Advisory Services in New York

Michael N. Altman is an accomplished art dealer and founder of Michael Altman Fine Art & Advisory Services in New York. Through his gallery, Michael has been instrumental in facilitating the placement of significant works of art with renowned private collectors and distinguished institutional collections for nearly forty years.

Previously, Michael has served on the boards of the Jewish Foundation for Christian Rescuers as well as the Hudson River Museum. In 2010, he co-founded the Men’s Campaign at Women for Women International, successfully raising over $10 million to support women’s causes across the globe. In addition to currently being on the boards of OCEARCH and John Jay Homestead, Michael serves as chair of Wild Immersion, a virtual reality startup.

Together with his wife, Alexandria, Michael also supports campaigns and programs in medicine, education, and the arts, and advocates on behalf of social and environmental causes. He and Alexandria have contributed extensively to Women for Women International and Partners in Health, and have established the E. Alexandria and Michael N. Altman Family Chair in Immunology at Massachusetts General Hospital. They are proud to support each of their children’s schools—Rippowam Cisqua, Greenwich Academy, Brunswick School, and Boston College—and most recently, Michael has joined the Advisory Committee for the School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs at Northeastern University under Maria Ivanova.

Through their financial contributions and personal commitments, and by raising three decent and caring children (Jack, Eliza, and Nicholas), Michael and Alexandria hope that our future will include a joy of living and dignity in life for all people on our wonderful planet.
