Alexa Richman
MA in Public History
Alexa graduated from Occidental College in 2024 with a BA in English and a minor in music. As an undergraduate, Alexa volunteered at Occidental’s Special Collections and Archives, where she handled rare books and 19th century artifacts. She also worked with University of California Santa Cruz’s The Dickens Project to develop their oral histories program. During and following her time at Occidental, Alexa has independently pursued opportunities to study Victorian quotidian living through literature, academic classes, and immersion experiences in London. She wrote her senior thesis on history and space in Henry David Thoreau’s Walden and is excited to make history accessible in engaging and meaningful ways.
