Caroline Smith

MA in Public History

I am originally from Northern California but was raised overseas. I graduated from Smith College in 2021 with a BA in History and a minor in religion. During my time at Smith, I completed an independent study on comparative historical memory; analyzing how historians understand ‘blame’ in three distinct case studies. As an undergraduate, I worked at a small house museum in the Pioneer Valley which sparked my love for museums. After graduating, I moved to Boston and have been working as a Visitor Experience Representative at the USS Constitution Museum. In this position I have loved engaging the local Charlestown community, as well as tourists from all over the world, in the history of the United States Navy.
