Dani English

English PhD Student

Dani is a PhD student in Rhetoric & Composition and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. She holds an MA in Composition and Pedagogy from the University of Massachusetts Boston, where she also earned a BA in Women’s and Gender Studies with minors in Religious Studies, Sociology, and English. Her research explores how rhetorical forms function as technologies of identity, collective memory, and continuity, and how they work to sustain marginalized epistemologies over time. In particular, her work centers Jewish rhetorical traditions as a case study, examining how these traditions have enabled the survival of Jewish peoplehood across millennia of exile and attempted erasure. Outside of her academic work, she enjoys gardening, language learning, and hanging out with her service dog while trying to keep up with her partner’s latest thoughts on classical flute repertoire.
