Laurel Schlegel

MA in Public History

Laurel Schlegel is a Public History M.A. student at Northeastern University. She graduated from the University of Denver in 2021 with a bachelor’s in history and minors in Spanish and critical race and ethnic studies. Her research interests include oral history and community archives. For her graduate fieldwork, she has been privileged to work as the conference coordinator for the Black New England Conference 2023. While at Northeastern, Laurel has also had the opportunity to work as a research assistant for the Apartheid Heritages Project and for the Boston Research Center.

Research Interest: Oral History, Community History – specifically community activism and engagement, and History of U.S. Foreign Intervention.
