Miranda Melson


Prior to entering the PhD program in 2020, Miranda’s research used social network analysis to detect connections within communities. Her work drew upon analyzing primary source data of injection drug users’ networks in rural Puerto Rico, Alaska Natives’ helping networks, and science teachers’ advice networks. She brings her background in advocating for sexual violence prevention and awareness and Francophone language. Miranda earned her BA in sociology, French, and global studies at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
