Paul Nicholas Pacheco

Nikkie Pacheco is a PhD in Applied Economics student at Northeastern University. His research interests focus on development economics, behavioral economics, financial inclusion, firms and productivity, economic growth, and the environment. Previously, he worked for the World Bank’s Europe and Central Asia Chief Economist’s Office and World Development Report 2021 team. He also worked for Innovations for Poverty Action in Myanmar and the Georgetown University Business School.

Born and raised in the Philippines, he served the government working for the Bureau of the Treasury under the Department of Finance, and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. He holds a Master of International Development Policy degree from Georgetown University, a MicroMasters program credential in Data, Economics and Development Policy from MIT, and a BS in Communications Technology Management from the Ateneo de Manila University.
