Tiffani Elliott
Sociology PhD Student
Tiffani joined Northeastern’s Sociology Department in the Fall of 2021. She holds a B.S in Psychology, minor in Biology and an M.A in Sociology from Texas State University. Her research broadly focuses on medical sociology and the sociology of mental health with a focus on power structures within institutionalized care settings and inequalities in patient-provider interactions as they relate to mental health treatment. Her previous research has looked at State policies regarding the use of forced medication, public attitudes towards the biomedical model of mental health treatment, and shared decision making regarding psychotropic medication.
