2022 Shannon Community Safety Initiative (CSI) Statewide Research Partner

Since 2006, the Massachusetts Legislature has appropriated funds to support the Shannon CSI aimed at reducing gang violence across the Commonwealth. The Shannon CSI is modeled after the Office of Juvenile Justice Delinquency Prevention’s (OJJDP) Comprehensive Gang Model, a multi-sectored approach to address a community’s gang violence problem. As the Statewide Research Partner, the research team assists the Massachusetts Office of Grants and Research and Shannon grantees by providing strategic thinking, critical analysis, and feedback to improve or maintain program operations and ensure that the goals of funded programs are within scope, on schedule, and within budget.
