Brian Walshe‘s decision to plead guilty to two charges related to the 2023 disappearance of his wife and her body is likely to change the strategies presented during his trial for murder, according to a legal expert. Tuesday’s change in plea means the trial will likely focus on “what happened” rather than “whodunit,” Northeastern University law professor Daniel Medwed said during a live interview on NewsCenter 5. He anticipates the defense will argue that the killing was not premeditated, aiming to reduce the charge from first-degree murder to a lesser offense.
