President Donald Trump’s approval rating is underwater in 12 states he won in 2024, according to a Civiqs poll. According to the survey, more people disapprove than approve of the way Trump is handling his job as president in all seven swing states—Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin—as well as in Alaska, Florida, Iowa, Ohio and Texas.

Newsweek has contacted the White House for comment via email. Trump easily carried Alaska, Florida, Iowa, Ohio and Texas in the 2024 election, and the seven swing states were crucial to his victory.  But if support for Trump continues to decline in those states, it could have an effect on Republicans’ performance in next year’s midterm elections, which will determine the balance of power in Congress and Democrats’ ability to thwart Trump’s agenda in the second half of his term.
