The NULab for Digital Humanities and Computational Social Science is delighted to announce that we are hiring an Assistant Director. NULab is Northeastern University’s center for digital humanities and computational social science, and we support a range of interdisciplinary research and outreach programs, a digital integration teaching initiative, and an internal grant program for developing projects. We are an active and vibrant community with particular strengths in community-engaged outreach and social justice themed projects and we are seeking a colleague who can contribute to and extend these strengths.

The Assistant Director of the NULab for Digital Humanities and Social Science will be responsible for supporting the community of scholars in computational social science (CSS) at Northeastern University. This will include supporting the Digital Integration Teaching Initiative; supporting the CSS certificate and minor; strengthening faculty and student research in CSS; community-building, e.g., facilitating collaborations among CSS faculty and students; and working to ensure the visibility of NULab’s work in CSS to the broader community and potential partners, both inside and outside of Northeastern. This position will also involve working with the NULab leadership team to form long-term strategic plans. The position is responsible for leading the design and organization of outreach programs and events in computational social science, including leading methods workshops, speaker series, and community events, and potentially teaching and/or supporting teaching in computational social science tools and methods.

For more information and to apply for the position, please see the full job announcement.

The College of Social Sciences and Humanities is strongly committed to fostering excellence through diversity and enthusiastically welcomes applications from members of groups underrepresented in higher education administration.

For best consideration, please apply by March 3, 2023. Start date to be negotiated at the completion of the hiring process, anticipated by July 1, 2023. Contact NULab Associate Director, Sarah Connell (sa.connell[at]northeastern[dot]edu) with any questions.
