Outstanding Graduate Student Award for Teaching

Elizabeth Polcha

Outstanding Graduate Student Award for Teaching

Liz, a doctoral student in English, loves coaching writers, whether they are first-year students or fellow graduate students, aspiring health professionals, future business leaders, practitioners of the arts, or multilingual writers. The number and range of the courses Liz has led attest to her intelligence, versatility, desire for challenge, and command of subjects ranging from new media, feminist scholarship, and cultural studies to the digital humanities, a field in which she has often led workshops for faculty and doctoral students. In her time at Northeastern, Liz has also demonstrated a strong commitment to the welfare of her fellow instructors, including faculty and the many PhD student-teachers who regard her as a mentor.
