Lisa Barao

Lisa Barao is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Center on Crime and Community Resilience. She earned her master’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Massachusetts Lowell and earned her Ph.D. in Criminology & Justice Policy from Northeastern University. Barao’s research interests include police-community relations, crime prevention and violence reduction, and organizational practices and policies within criminal justice agencies. She has worked with both state and local criminal justice agencies, contributing to a variety of projects examining efforts like focused deterrence programs and the implementation of police body-worn cameras.
