Rachael McIntosh

English PhD Student

Rachael McIntosh (she/her) is a PhD candidate in the English Department studying archival rhetorics. Her dissertation project explores how archives perpetuate discourse and ideas about race and power that developed under colonialism. Her goal is to identify and contribute to developing strategies that will recuperate suppressed epistemologies and gather, preserve, and code knowledge in ways that humanize rather than dehumanize the subjects represented within archival records.

Program and Fields: Rhetoric and Composition, Archival Rhetorics, Feminist Rhetorics, Black Feminist Theory, Decolonial Theory
