Steve Farrell

Steve Farrell’s work at Chief Operating Officer at Metro Housing|Boston encompasses the public policy, communications, human resources, information technology, and administration business lines at the state’s largest regional provider of homelessness prevention and affordable housing. Metro Housing provides a continuum of housing services ranging from families and individuals at risk of homelessness to those striving for financial self-sufficiency.
Farrell, a Watertown native who now lives in Dorchester, joined Metro Housing in 2013 after previously serving as the director of development at the Boston Private Industry Council. While working as an independent management consultant in Ohio, Steve was the first Executive Director of a statewide non-profit housing association for people with developmental disabilities, and helped launch a membership association for local human service providers. He also previously worked in public policy and research roles at United Way and City Year.
Steve is a proud graduate of Northeastern University with a degree in political science, earned a Bachelor of Philosophy degree from St. John’s Seminary in Brighton, and received a Master of Public Policy degree from Georgetown University.
