Center for Responsible AI and Governance

Led by: John Basl

The Center on Responsible AI and Governance, or CRAIG, will be the first NSF-funded Industry-University Cooperative Research Center (IUCRC) to focus specifically on developing the knowledge and workforce required to pursue artificial intelligence that is safe, accurate, impartial, and accountable; in a word, “responsible.” By advancing AI’s safety and trustworthiness, CRAIG will increase AI’s adoption and so will promote U.S. competitiveness, national security, and societal values. The CRAIG team is comprised of more than 35 researchers across four institutions.
