Emily is a fourth year senior studying Human Services with a concentration in Food Systems and Public Health. Emily has developed a passion or public health through her involvement with Relay for Life, a trip to Zambia to study public health and foreign aid, and her second co-op at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement. She has taken courses like Strategic Philanthropy and Nonprofit Management, Community and Public Health, and Food Systems Policy that have helped her explore connections between the nonprofit sector and public health/healthcare. Emily has also been involved in the Service-Learning program in some form since her first semester Freshman year – as a S-L student, Street Team Member, S-LTA, and S-LTM which has inspired her to constantly think about the most effective ways to create social change. Emily hopes to pursue a career in public health after graduation to help promote health equity.
