During Swati Joshi’s second year at Northeastern, she wasn’t sure that she wanted to be an Economics major any more. A conversation with Professor Imke Reimers changed her mind. Professor Reimers shared her own experience and journey with Swati and explained what the graduate school experience might look like and the process of applying to PhD programs.

One of my highlights at Northeastern has been my involvement in the Fed Challenge. I had the opportunity to lead the team in analyzing our current economic state and creating a proposal advising the Fed what they should do about rates. Not only has it given me the opportunity to get close to my amazing faculty advisor, Nancy Kimelman, but we also get to present at the Boston Fed, which is every Econ student’s dream!
