Not ready to commit to a degree or certificate program? Apply to be a Special Student!
Non-degree special students are nonmatriculated students who are enrolled on a part-time basis (fewer than 8 semester hours). Special students may earn up to 12 semester hours over time. After completing 12 semester hours, a special student who wants to continue their graduate studies should apply to a degree or certificate program. See the Academic Catalog for more information about the special student classification.
To apply as a special student, select “CSSH Special Student” for the program option and “Special Student/Non-Degree” for the degree option. Applicants should include the CSSH graduate courses that they would like to take should they be admitted within their personal statement.
