Congratulations to 2020-21 Gideon Klein Scholar

Kalah Karloff  has been awarded the 2020-2021 Gideon Klein Scholarship. Kalah is a fourth year Communications and Music Industry student from Marlborough, MA, heavily passionate about her work in media production, music and songwriting, and musical theater. For her Gideon Klein project Kalah will research how music was used as a form of torture by the Nazis in concentration camps and how the effect of music on the human body can change with its context. Specific songs will be assessed musically and lyrically to explore the reason behind these choices, with clear applications to our own day. She will present her work as part of Holocaust and Genocide Awareness Week in spring 2021.
