NYU Law’s Institute of Judicial Administration has memorialized the esteemed contributions of Justice Roderick L. Ireland with An Oral History of Distinguished American Judges.
“It seemed to me that it was important to try to build some bridges between the courts and the legislature, to try to reach out to not just the leadership of the legislature but the rank and file,” says Ireland, professor of criminology and criminal justice at CSSH, looking back on his time as a chief justice.
