Tuition and fees
The Department of Political Science is a part of the College of Social Sciences and Humanities. The rates for tuition and fees can be found on the Student Financial Services’ tuition and fees page.

Financial Aid
Scholarships and Assistantships
The College of Social Sciences and Humanities Graduate Office, at the recommendation of its departments, awards scholarships and assistantships. All PhD students are fully funded via a Tuition Assistantship which includes stipend, full tuition, and student health insurance. Our top masters applicants are eligible for the Political Engagement Scholarship or the 21st Century Resilience Scholarship that cover up to 50% of tuition for the duration of the degree program. There is no separate application for these awards. Students simply indicate interest in funding via the “Financial Assistance” section in the online admission application.

The Double Husky Scholarship

Yellow Ribbon Program

Federal Financial Aid
Northeastern University’s Student Financial Services Office administers graduate financial aid. Federal financial aid and alternative educational loan programs — Interested applicants must complete a FAFSA form.
Conference Funding
The Department maintains a small fund to assist graduate student participation in or attendance at professional meetings. Funding is available to all graduate students, with priority given to doctoral students offering papers. Students seeking financial support must complete and submit a conference participation funding proposal.
