Carl Cilke
PhD Candidate in Political Science
Carl Cilke is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Political Science at Northeastern University, specializing in International Relations and American Government and Politics. He has a strong background and interest in U.S. Foreign Policy Institutions.
Research Interests
Carl’s research interests are focused on the functions and processes of U.S. foreign policy institutions, particularly on how those institutions shape and influence international relations.
Prior Work
While a Master’s Degree student at American University, Carl participated in a Practicum focusing on water policy in Israel and the West Bank. This practicum focused on understanding the entire process of how water affects the region. The study involved qualitative interviews with subjects ranging from government officials to date farmers in the West Bank.
Biography
Carl was born in 1993 in Northern Virginia. He attended the College of William and Mary, in Williamsburg Virginia, for undergrad and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Government. Then he attended American University in Washington DC and in 2016 graduated with a Master’s degree in International Relations.
