Milan Skobic

Sociology PhD Candidate

Milan started his doctoral studies in the sociology program in the Fall of 2018. His research focuses on micro-politics in foreign-owned manufacturing plants in Serbia and the ideological significance of contemporary industrial workplaces. He is using this case to test and develop frameworks between shifting and complex labor and market conditions on the one hand and the economic and political subjectivities of workers and managers. He hopes that by paying closer attention to this process, we could better assess the effects of institutional work arrangements and exchange and propose solutions that serve toward more sustainable creation and redistribution of wealth.
