Advising Resources

Undergraduate Student Support

All CSSH students have:

  • a professional academic advisor located in the Office for Student Academic Affairs;
  • an Undergraduate Program Director located in the student’s major department or program; and
  • students who participate in the co-op program have a co-op coordinator.

The academic advisors are a good place to start for most questions on navigating CSSH or the university. Co-op coordinators and Undergraduate Program Directors are also available to meet one-on-one with students to discuss academic goals, as well as concerns.

Some advising services may require an appointment with an advisor, but students can complete some requests on their own using the forms or worksheets provided in this section. Using the links below, students can access information from across the university, 24/7.

The college and the university also have special programming in place to serve as additional resources for CSSH students. Students who are interested in learning more about navigating the university, or students who are interested in taking a leadership role on campus, can explore the programming below under Student Community.

Academic Services Directory

Use this reference sheet to find the location and contact information for your academic advisor, Undergraduate Program Director, and co-op coordinator.

Pre-Professional Preparation & Advising

Prelaw: Aspiring lawyers can be found in nearly every department. Northeastern’s prelaw advisors help students navigate through all the possibilities and make decisions that advance their personal and professional goals.

Prehealth/Premedical/Predental: The premed or predental advisors will guide students as they prepare for medical school. Students also have access to Northeastern’s Pre-Health Advising website and online services.

Teacher Preparation/Education Program: Northeastern students may pursue teacher training in elementary, secondary, or higher education. Programs are available for full-time traditional students majoring in a specified content area. Click here for more info.

Tutoring

The University’s central tutoring office is the place for students to go when they are having difficulty finding the tutorial assistance that you need. Peer tutoring services are free and open to all Northeastern undergraduate students.

The Undergraduate Catalog of Full-Time Day Programs outlines important information for undergraduate students, such as academic policies and procedures, academic programs, and curriculum. The catalog is available on the Registrar’s website.
