NU Writing is an online journal that publishes compositions made in First-Year Writing and Advanced Writing in the Disciplines
NU Writing was established in 2012 by the Northeastern Writing Program as a way to spotlight student writing from Advanced Writing in the Disciplines and First-Year Writing courses. The journal has evolved over time and has moved into a faculty-nominated model with its relaunch in 2026.
Compositions published in NU Writing span genres and are multimodal—ranging from literacy narratives, TED Talks, and podcast episodes to business recommendation reports, scientific literature reviews, and critical lens essays.
