SCCJ doctoral student wins prestigious American Society of Criminology Award

Congratulations to SCCJ doctoral student Abigail Ballou on winning second place in the American Society of Criminology’s Gene Carte Student Paper Competition. This prestigious award is given to recognize outstanding scholarly work of students.

Abigail’s winning paper, “Degrees of difference: Do college credentials earned behind bars improve labor market outcomes,” examines carceral education and its impact on post-release labor market reentry.
