Brandon Craig
Postdoctoral Teaching Associate
Dr. Craig’s scholarship centers the experiences of historically marginalized groups across several related social phenomena: violence, social networks, public opinion, and mass media. For instance, their three-paper dissertation “Exploring Entanglements: A Multi-Method Network Perspective on Intimate Partner Violence and Drug Use Among Sexual Minority Men” applied social network analysis methods to examine the interrelatedness of sex and drug use networks, victimization, and attributes like HIV status among Chicago-area, sexual minority youth. Dr. Craig’s published works have examined helpseeking experiences of transgender domestic violence survivors (in the Journal of Interpersonal Violence); Americans’ public opinion of racial minorities, immigrants, women, and certain gun policies (in Social Problems); and homophobic attitudes within a network of Dutch adolescents (in Social Science Research).
