Political Science
Kati Kish Bar-On

Part-Time Lecturer
I study the dynamics of group behavior and its impact on individual decision-making. My research integrates insights from social psychology, behavioral sciences, and political philosophy to examine the interplay between groups, norms, emotions, and social identities. Using both conceptual and quantitative methods, I investigate fundamental questions such as how individuals internalize and adhere to social norms, the relationship between identity and emotions, and the broader political and social dynamics of polarization. Since 2022, I have been a postdoctoral research fellow in the Science, Technology, and Society program at MIT and, in 2024-25, a National Postdoctoral Association IMPACT Fellow.
