Patrice Collins
Assistant Professor of Criminology and Criminal Justice and Cultures, Societies and Global Studies
Dr. Patrice D. Collins earned her Ph.D. in Sociology from Yale University in 2022. Dr. Collins’ research primarily focuses on children affected by state violence. Her broader research interests include the intersections of race, ethnicity, social justice, familial incarceration, and child well-being. She is a 2023 Fellow of the Racial Democracy Crime and Justice Network, recipient of the 2024 Yale University Department of Sociology 21st Century Dissertation Award, and a 2024 Fellow of the World Making/World Building Humanities Center at Northeastern University. Dr. Collins is currently completing her book manuscript, Everybody’s Locked Up: Black Families with Incarcerated Loved Ones, which is under contract with New York University Press.
