Dr. Tom Scott is a social scientist who studies how to improve policing and prevent violent crime. He has contributed to several evaluations of local and national crime prevention programs, coordinated law enforcement agency assessments to improve agency violent crime responses, helped to expand and improve the National Incident-based Reporting System, and most recently collected original data to understand the barriers to victim and witness engagement in the criminal legal system. He has much experience working directly with law enforcement agencies and community organizations to reduce crime and improve the criminal legal system.
