About Fresh is the parent organization to the programs @freshtruck and @freshconnectbos. The Fresh Truck program, founded by NU Alums, utilizes retrofitted school buses to operate mobile markets in and around the city of Boston. These mobile markets bring healthy, affordable food into low-income neighborhoods to address concerns of limited food access. Fresh Truck volunteers will directly support the Fresh Truck Market by completing tasks such as: filling shopper orders on the bus, cleaning/sanitizing equipment & materials, greeting & monitoring the flow of the line, taking order(s) from shoppers, and processing shopper payment.

There is a group project reserved for NU students on Friday, November 13th from 1:30-6:00pm. As part of the volunteer shift, students will have the chance to meet with faculty member Prof. Rebecca Riccio from the School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs to learn more about the significance of nonprofit organizations in our local neighborhoods and how they respond to the needs of local residents.

Friday, November 13th
1:30-6:00pm.
