An experiential workshop on adoption and identity

Join us for an experiential workshop on Friday, October 6th from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) located on 24 Farnsworth in Boston, MA.

This event features a screening of the short documentary Six Word Adoption Memoir (6WAM) 2017 and a workshop on adoption identity. We will explore the identities of the adoption constellation (birth parents, adoptees, adoptive parents) and research that views this unacknowledged minority population who face bias, shame, lack of civil rights (limited or no access to origins, OBC, health history, culture, as well as lost status); and discuss the stigma and racism biracial, fost-to-adopt, international adoptee, bi-racial and black adoptees face across the lifespan.

Learn more by emailing emcewanseavey@gmail.com or by visiting https://www.facebook.com/6WAMproject/.
