The LaCLA (La Comunidad Latina en Acción) Scholarship was established in 1993 by a group of Latino/a students at Northeastern University as a way to increase retention.

The LaCLA (La Comunidad Latina en Acción) Scholarship was established in 1993 by a group of Latino/a students at Northeastern University as a way to increase retention.  The scholarship is a TUITION ONLY award given annually to 8 undergraduate students, under the guidance of the LSCC and the LaCLA Chair and Committee. The purpose is to encourage academic excellence of students and promote community service on campus and in the Greater Boston Area. Awards are renewable for scholars who maintain a 3.0 GPA and satisfactorily complete the required 200 hours of service.
