Northeastern University’s Africana Studies Program and our co-sponsors welcome you to this symposium honoring the life and legacy of the trailblazing Black feminist scholar bell hooks (1952-2021). A prolific author, committed teacher, brilliant intellectual, unequivocal truth-teller, and bold visionary, bell hooks (née Gloria Jean Watkins) is a feminist icon who left an indelible mark on multiple generations of people including activists, artists, students, and scholars.
