Mo Keane
Criminology and Criminal Justice
Mo Keane (they/them) is a doctoral student in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice, whose research interests include the experiences of marginalized identities/persons within the criminal justice system and the role of institutions in defining and policing identity. Their work centers intersectionality across race, gender, sexual orientation and other social identities that impact the ways in which individuals navigate the world, particularly within criminal justice systems and processes. Mo holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Criminal Justice with focuses on forensic psychology and victimology and victim services. They have presented at select conferences and workshops on topics relating to queer criminology, victimization and intersectionality. They currently serve as a research assistant to Dr. Amy Farrell, focusing on a multi-institution investigation of forced criminality within the context of human trafficking, and as a teaching assistant for various criminology classes.
