Oghenerhuru Daniel

Criminology and Justice Policy, PhD

Oghenerhuru Daniel is a doctoral student in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Northeastern University. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University at Albany (SUNY) and an MSc in International Social and Public Policy from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Since joining Northeastern, Oghenerhuru has worked as a teaching assistant for Dr. Kevin Drakulich and Professor Krista Larsen, as well as a research assistant for Dr. Korey Tillman. She continues to collaborate with Dr. Drakulich and Dr. Tillman on ongoing research projects. Rhuru’s research focuses on punishment and social control, specifically examining the impact of colonial rule on the criminal justice systems of formerly colonized countries. Her work seeks to highlight the intersection of historical legacies and contemporary justice practices.
