Experiential Education:

Sophie recently completed her first co-op with the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Civil Rights and Human Trafficking Unit. During her time there she aided in the prosecution and investigation of a number of high-profile federal cases.

Since the fall of 2024, she has served as a research assistant on the Turning Points project under Natasha Frost, with the Center on Race, Crime, and Justice. The Turning Points project is first longitudinal study of occupational stress, violence exposure, psychological distress, and suicide risk across the careers of correctional officers through coding officer-specific use of force incidents.

After her first year at Northeastern, Sophie participated in a Dialogue of Civilizations in Ireland titled “Ireland, Literature, and Film”.

Student Clubs and Organizations:

  • Secretary and tutor with the Petey Greene Program at Northeastern.
  • Member of ACES (Alliance of Civically Engaged Students)
  • Member of SARJ, Northeastern Theatre’s social and racial justice organization.

Volunteer Experience

  • Volunteering with Food Allergy Research and Education (FARE), running events, leading projects, and writing blog posts and articles for an organization devoted to bettering the lives of those with food allergies through education, advocacy, and research.
  • Tutoring with the Petey Greene Program.
  • She has tutored incarcerated individuals across Massachusetts in a variety of subjects, through Northeastern’s ACES (Alliance of Civically Engaged Students).
