The Movement University

The Movement University is a creative collaboration between movement-building grassroots organizations and activist academics to circulate knowledge, energy, and resources across the line separating the university from the community, and to generate insurgent knowledge and practices for collective liberation through shared study.  Rooted in Black Radical Traditions of the South, the Movement University cultivates bonds between intellectual workers, of different generations and in different locales, who keep struggle alive at local, state, regional, and international levels.  This is an alternative space for higher, deeper, and broader learning and practice — bridging the distinctive creativities and knowledges of activists at the grassroots and in academia — at a time when colonialism, fascism, and the war against social existence intensifies.
